  1. Image Trace has a problem keeping the artwork in the same location from the original.

    Illustrator version 22.0.1

    Image trace seems to have a problem keeping artwork in the same location from the original. Screen Shot 1 shows some text that I have rasterized to be image traced. I work at a die making facility so rasterized images need to be made into vectors for our CNC machines to "read them."

    my mouse pointer appears huge in the InDesign interface
    when i use my illustrator the mouse size look fine
    i use a primary and secondary screens

  3. When a crash happens, the Recent Files lists get reset to the state they had on launch

    File > Open Recent Files list and a Recent files at home screen don’t get recorded somewhere safe as soon as a document gets opened.

    So each time Illustrator crashes (and sadly it’s a ordinary way and the only reason for Illustrator to get relaunched), both lists get lost — Illustrator shows them in the state they had when the program was closed successfully.

    Illustrator should update and store these lists as soon as they change and don’t loose them on crash.

  5. Artboard name problem when exporting

    When exporting files in image format the name of the first artboard aways differs from that of its subsequents, being outputed as "Untitled_Artboard 1" instead of "Untitled-01".

    Given that every modification must be done "by hand", it turns out to be very exhausting.

  6. SVG Precision and options are reset on every launch of IL. Add a place in IL preferences allowing users to permanently set SVG precision.

    I've gone over this problem in detail on the forums here:

    Illustrator's precision for saving out SVG files has a default of 1 decimal place. This can cause severe path distortion and rounding errors in the resulting file if you simply save it with CTRL+S.

    This precision setting is reset to 1 after closing and re-opening Illustrator no matter what settings you have applied in the past. To rectify this, you have to:

    1. FIRST select "Save As..."
    2. Choose SVG as your format.
    3. Click save and wait for the SVG options dialog to appear.
    4. Change the precision value from 1…

  7. Effect 3D Rotate perspective error

    With Effects/3D Rotate, Illustrator can't render a placed image using a high perspective value. The image is all distorted. See screenshots:

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting this issue, Illustrator Team really appreciate this.

    To adjust the perspective, enter a value between 0 and 160 in the Perspective text box. A smaller angle is similar to a telephoto camera lens; a larger lens angle is similar to a wide-angle camera lens. A lens angle that is higher than 150 may result in objects extending beyond your point of view and appearing distorted

  8. Illustrator turning all PNGs into negatives (with or without yellow background) after saving and reopening document

    I'm on Windows 10 pro, version 21H1. The version of illustrator I have is 26.3.1.
    When working on a document, CMYK or RGB, in illustrator with my Adobe color settings synced across all programs, all PNGs whether 16 bit or 8 bit turn negative. I've attached before and after screenshots.

    I've never had this happen before and I work with PNGs everyday, I spoke to and adobe support rep yesterday and gave them an AI filer where I tested PNGs vs JPEGs out. JPEGs are totally fine, only issue is with placing PNGs and I rather place a PNG…

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 27.0.1 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  9. SVG Tiny 1.2 :: x/y attributes in svg element

    It looks like Illustrator believes that x/y are valid attributes for the 'svg' element when exporting as Tiny 1.2. Based on reading the spec, I'm not entirely sure this is true.

  10. SVGs not aligning properly unless empty objects in Layers are deleted

    When I import an image in SVG format the alignment tools do not work properly to align the image with other elements on the artboard. I've found a work around for this, deleting the "title" layer of the SVG in the layers panel seems to allow it to work properly. There is no graphic information in the title layer as far as I'm aware so why does it affect how the alignment tools work? Also with the title layer still present clicking align moves it every time it's clicked rather than just once, how it usually behaves. I've attached a…

  11. Exporting to JPEG(Optimized) results Progressive JPEG

    I exported my design as JPEG "Baseline Optiomized" on Illustrator CC 22.1. However it results a progressive JPEG file that contains a SOF2 "FF C2" .

  12. Illustrator 28.4 does not preserve SVG object hierarchy

    Starting with Illustrator 28.4, the object hierarchy is not preserved when saving and re-opening an SVG file. Many groups are created for no apparent reason.

    This makes Illustrator completely impractical for editing SVG files. I will have to stay at 28.3 until this error is fixed.

  14. save as OR save a copy using artboards does not save separate artboard files at all.

    Only export works as expected. But if you want to save each artboard as PDF it does not.

  15. Refresh problems in Trim View - Illustrator 24.0

    I'm not sure this is exclusive to GPU, but in Trim View sometimes when working with content, it stops refreshing properly and causing anomalies on screen

  16. Moving rotation anchor sticks to cursor - Pen tablet

    Windows 10 64bit.

    For literally years now, when you use a wacom pen, hold alt to move to the position of an object's rotation anchor, it sticks the anchor to the cursor and there's no way of detaching it unless you minimise and reopen the software.

    This has been a problem for more versions than I can count. (We're talking in excess of five years, probably more?) It's happened on different machines and different pen tablets so it's a software problem. Oh how I'd love it to be actually fixed one day!

  17. Illustrator (still) cannot read TIF files.

    When can we remedy this? I cannot open or place a TIF file in Illustrator 27.6.1. The error message is the file is an unknown format and can't be opened.

    There are reports on this page still open from 2021. When will this be fixed?

    I have several TIFs from a museum to lay out for printing and I'm having to individually bring them all in to photoshop and export them as a different format.

  20. Wacom is crashing Illustrator 2023

    It crashes within in minutes. It will crash while selecting a tool, moving the screen, or trying to use a tool--any function using a Wacom. There is rarely a crash report and often it's not even open long enough for the 2 minute autosave to kick in. I'm on a pc with Windows 10 and 27.2 cc.
