  1. SVG Tiny 1.2 :: x/y attributes in svg element

    It looks like Illustrator believes that x/y are valid attributes for the 'svg' element when exporting as Tiny 1.2. Based on reading the spec, I'm not entirely sure this is true.

  2. Moving rotation anchor sticks to cursor - Pen tablet

    Windows 10 64bit.

    For literally years now, when you use a wacom pen, hold alt to move to the position of an object's rotation anchor, it sticks the anchor to the cursor and there's no way of detaching it unless you minimise and reopen the software.

    This has been a problem for more versions than I can count. (We're talking in excess of five years, probably more?) It's happened on different machines and different pen tablets so it's a software problem. Oh how I'd love it to be actually fixed one day!

  3. When a crash happens, the Recent Files lists get reset to the state they had on launch

    File > Open Recent Files list and a Recent files at home screen don’t get recorded somewhere safe as soon as a document gets opened.

    So each time Illustrator crashes (and sadly it’s a ordinary way and the only reason for Illustrator to get relaunched), both lists get lost — Illustrator shows them in the state they had when the program was closed successfully.

    Illustrator should update and store these lists as soon as they change and don’t loose them on crash.

  4. Exporting to JPEG(Optimized) results Progressive JPEG

    I exported my design as JPEG "Baseline Optiomized" on Illustrator CC 22.1. However it results a progressive JPEG file that contains a SOF2 "FF C2" .
    Please check it.

  5. Effect 3D Rotate perspective error

    With Effects/3D Rotate, Illustrator can't render a placed image using a high perspective value. The image is all distorted. See screenshots:

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting this issue, Illustrator Team really appreciate this.

    To adjust the perspective, enter a value between 0 and 160 in the Perspective text box. A smaller angle is similar to a telephoto camera lens; a larger lens angle is similar to a wide-angle camera lens. A lens angle that is higher than 150 may result in objects extending beyond your point of view and appearing distorted

  6. Brush not working with dual monitor setup

    1. Illustrator v 24.1.1
    2. My brush pen doesn't line up to where my pen touches on the screen. I am using a touchscreen monitor on a desktop computer. The brush works in photoshop and every other program but illustrator.
    3. I would like to use the brush in illustrator for drawing
    4. The brush is about 2-3 inches away from where I touch the screen almost like it's treating my two monitors as one, always pulling toward the center of the two screens.

  7. Illustrator (still) cannot read TIF files.

    When can we remedy this? I cannot open or place a TIF file in Illustrator 27.6.1. The error message is the file is an unknown format and can't be opened.

    There are reports on this page still open from 2021. When will this be fixed?

    I have several TIFs from a museum to lay out for printing and I'm having to individually bring them all in to photoshop and export them as a different format.

  8. Zoomed in Home Screen? Why

    The home screen in my Adobe Illustrator is 'zoomed-in' and it's not the same size as other Adobe apps. I've attached a screen shot of Illustrator vs photoshop.

  10. Freeform Gradient fails at transformation.

    Hey I like the freeform gradient tool. But after it is applied to an object, the gradient has some major issues with resizing and rotation of the object. From what I can tell the points are not truly anchored in the object, so when the shape rotates the gradient points drop off the object, causing them to delete. It's like the gradient floats above the object. Or more frustratingly, sometimes when using the line gradient within the freeform settings, a point will delete causing the lines to cross and lock up, becoming uneditable.   11. Refresh problems in Trim View - Illustrator 24.0

    I'm not sure this is exclusive to GPU, but in Trim View sometimes when working with content, it stops refreshing properly and causing anomalies on screen

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

    I am in Fresco, click "Publish & Export" and "Open a Copy" in Desktop Illustrator. 9 out of 10 times nothing happens.

  13. Artboard selection bugs in Illustrator CC 2018

    There are a number of bugs related to Illustrator CC 2018 losing artboard selection (no highlight in the artboard list in the artboard panel), and losing sync between actual artboard selection and displayed (highlighted) selection. These include:

  14. Unable to retain the last active artboard on switching from another file

    This is related to this issue here, though I'm unable to vote or comment on it. So I'm reposting this issue, because it's still annoying.

    When I ⌘+Tilde (~), on certain documents (the setting seems to be saved to a document), it automatically Fits Artboard to Screen on the last artboard of the document. It is confusing, and annoying, and interrupts workflows where I need to move quickly between artboards. Please fix this.

  15. Illustrator Window Disappears When Changing Screen Focus

    When I switch focus from my center screen where illustrator 2020 is, on my mac mini running Catalina 10.15.3 on three LG monitors, to the screen to my left, Illustrator vanishes.

    It's not minimized, it's just gone, I have to click on the icon in the taskbar to pull it back up. It looks like it's there in Mission Control, but if I click on it, it just goes back to being invisible/unclickable.

    This is a pain when I'm cross referencing. If I click the icon to get it back, it'll stay there if I don't click into it, and…

  16. color on screen looks different if cmyk or spot

    this is a problem i found in illustrator, indesign and photoshop cc.
    i create a gradient, say from 100% to 0% of cyan (c100 m0 y0 k0). (the color is not important)
    than i create another gradient, from 100% to 0% of cyan (c100 m0 y0 k0), but spot color.
    than i active 'overprint preview'.
    on screen, the 2 color look different, and it's wrong.
    we have the same color, the same gradient, so it MUST look the same.

  17. SVG Precision and options are reset on every launch of IL. Add a place in IL preferences allowing users to permanently set SVG precision.

    I've gone over this problem in detail on the forums here:

    Illustrator's precision for saving out SVG files has a default of 1 decimal place. This can cause severe path distortion and rounding errors in the resulting file if you simply save it with CTRL+S.

    This precision setting is reset to 1 after closing and re-opening Illustrator no matter what settings you have applied in the past. To rectify this, you have to:

    1. FIRST select "Save As..."
    2. Choose SVG as your format.
    3. Click save and wait for the SVG options dialog to appear.
    4. Change the precision value from 1…

  18. Round vectors not saving and expanding properly in SVG

  20. Magnifying screen redrawing flaws

    In Illustrator 2022, when I zoom in, the screen turns black and my artwork only redraws the portions where I hover the mouse, as if the display was defective.
