Export for Screens: bad antialiasing and jagged edges on images within (especially rotated) when exported to JPG
Images from artboards containing embedded raster files output using Export for Screens are of decidedly lower quality than those output from Save for Web. Please see the attached image for a side-by-side comparison. Save for Web is on the left, Export for Screens on the right. Top images are actual size, bottom enlarged for emphasis. Notice the jaggies in the raster images.

When exported for screens, pictures that are rotated are extremely pixelated. And 300x300 resolution for PNGs is not big enough.
When exported for screens, pictures that are rotated are extremely pixelated. And 300x300 resolution for PNGs is not big enough. I am working with letter and A4 formats, it is not convenient to enlarge my artboards every-time I export.

SVG export for screens not working properly.
Windows 11 22000.556 / Illustrator 26.1
Hi there,
The SVG file exported through "Export for screens" is corrupted when opened with any web browser, Illustrator or Photoshop.
I managed to export it properly by installing an older version of Illustrator (26.0.3). Previously I tried uninstalling and installing version 26.1, restarting the computer, etc and it didn't work.
Best,

Export for screens
I just realised that "Asset Export" doesn't retain the CMYK colour mode. This is a huge problem. All the time I've been exporting the PDF's from my CMYK working colour mode, only to discover that my PDF's have been converted to RGB instead. Why one earth do you do this?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Curse you Adobe!!
If you don't include the ability to export files as CMYK from Asset Export, then make the darn PDF, JPG, and SVG easier to export!!!!!!!!!
Why the heck do you have to make things so **** difficult for your users?! I don't understand…

Export for Screens: pre-export settings for PNG and JPG are same, but post-export JPG resolutions vary
This is odd. I'm in Illustrator 2020 (24.0.1).
I have a .ai doc open.
I go to File->Export->Export for Screens...
Under the Artboards tab, I set up PNGs and JPG 100s, at various scales using Width as the variable. (See Export for Screens Screenshot)
I hit the Export Artboard button, and am notified of success.
I go to Bridge to examine the results. (See Adobe Bridge Screenshot)
The exported PNGs all have resolutions of 72 ppi (expected, good result).
The exported JPGs have varying resolutions, from 12 to 72 ppi (unexpected, bad…

I cannot export as SVG using 'Export to Screens', I just get unable to export files error. Only way to do it is 'Save As' SVG and change to SVG 1.0 (1.1 doesn't work).

2. Create a simple element like a rectangle with 200 x 200 pixel
3. Set the document size to 200 x 200 pixel
4. Export it for screens
5. Generate 3 diffrent files with the scale factor of 29, 58 and 87 pixel
6. Save / Export the files
7. Open the file in preview or Photoshop
8. You can see that the images doesn't contain any DPI information3 votes -
Artboard name - Export for screens bug
Latest version of CC.
If you name an artboard with a "/" in the name - when you go to export for srceens and choose artboards - it'll report an error. For example an Artboard called Sign In / Registration will produce an error when trying to save the artboard using "Export for Screens".
2 votesThis is working as designed.
Windows has some limitation that is cannot have “/” and several other characters in the name of a file. So we restricted them from being added from Export for Screens dialog( for consistency purpose on both Windows and Macintosh ). Though we can have them from artboards panel but when you will export the artboard (through older route) those will be replaced by a “-”.Thanks & Regards

Corrupted Mac screenshot exports when using Export for Screens
When exporting multiple artboards that feature Mac screenshots via Illustrator > File > Export for Screens, the exported screenshot data looks corrupted / distorted. However, using File > Save for Web (legacy) results in a clear export.

Export for Screens doesn't remember settings.
Export for Screen Doesn't remember my settings.
Every time I restart Illustrator, I have to set again my Export for Screen setting.I have project where I want to export few different sizes PNGs and a PDF, so it is getting a bit tedious to set those again every time I restart Illustrator. And of course it doesn't remember Export folder either.
It really amaze me how Adobe can brake some basic functionality like this.
12 votesThe latest Beta 29.5 52 should now remember the settings in the Export for Screens dialog and keeps it between sessions. Please try to test it to see if it works as expected for you and comment back.

Export for screens scale problem
Sometime ago, I entered 0.2x in the scale field in the Export for Screens dialog. Now, in all documents, even if I set the scale to 1, I get the 0.2x scale. Even in new documents! I have even tried to delete the scale definition, it always comes back as 0.2x

Unable to export to SVG using 'Export to Screens'
I cannot Export to Screens using SVG - gives an error of 'unable to export following files'. I've tried a simple shape too and that doesn't work! The only way I can do it is to 'save as' SVG and change to SVG 1.0.

Export for Screens not updating Artboard titles
I've been copy/pasting my artboards and renaming them to save time.
I've noticed though that Export for Screens doesn't always update the artboard name, despite the artboard name being changed.
I've seen this bug a few times now.

Rotated Artboard
BUG: Some how the artboard is rotated and unable to keep it straight. The entire document is rotated and it is difficult to work that way. Can this be fixed ASAP?
Mac OS: 11.4 (20F71)
Illustrator Version 25.3.11 voteIllustrator can rotate the view. Perhaps you accidentally did that with adding Shift while panning with Space held?
It can be reset with the field in the bottom left corner, next to Zoom level, or with the View > Reset Rotate View command.
You can read more about rotating the view here: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/rotate-view.html

Export for Screens: ImageType PNG - is not recorded as an action
When i export for screens and select png as export type with a fixed width of 5906 px in my case, then this action is simply not recorded.
Other image types are recorded (like jpg or svg).3 votes -
Image resolution wrong when rotated
When you place an image into a document the resolution is shown correctly, but if you rotate it, Illustrator continue to consider original pixel width and height as if image was not rotated.
Example:
- Import new 800x400px @72dpi image.
- Illustrator shows correctly 72ppi.
- Rotate it 90°.
- Illustrator now shows 144x36ppi, as if image size was 800w x 400h but it was stretched to 400w x 800h (so 800/400 = 2x -> 144 and 400/800 = 0.5x -> 36).30 votesThank you for reporting the issue. We have added the issue to our backlog.

SVG export for screens distorted
Vectors getting quite distorted creating SVGs of logos even with 5 decimal places and no minify. I've had to copy and paste into Sketch then export SVGs from there, not ideal at all.

.TIF are distorted when placed and rotated in AI
There is a bug in Illustrator 22.0.1 that distorts placed .tif files that are rotated. It is not just a display issue, but actually distorts the placed .tif image when I export my art to all file types. Attached is a before and after screen shot of what I am experiencing, using a bitmap .tif as a texture placed over my vector art. The two .tif files are the same, one just rotated 90°.
